Installation Considerations
& FAQs
The Dryer Drawer is 19.9″ Wide, 16.7″ Deep and 8.8 – 9.2” High (depending on handle configuration). It is important to measure your target drawer location to ensure the Dryer Drawer will work with your cabinets. See below for fit guidance.
Determine Dryer Drawer fit with a few simple measurements:
1. First, see if your Dryer Drawer will fit without an adapter by measuring your Cabinet Box Width (CBw) and Cabinet Box Height (CBh) and determine which, if any, of scenarios 1 to 3 below apply
2. If the above measurements don’t align with scenarios 1 to 3, measure the cabinet Opening Width (Ow) and Opening Height (Oh) and compare to scenarios 4 and 5

If none of the above scenarios apply or are you still not sure if a Dryer Drawer will fit in your kitchen, send us an email and we’ll help you determine if a Dryer Drawer will work for your space!
Frequently Asked Questions
Wet dishes in a wood cabinet, isn’t that an invitation for mold?
The Dryer Drawer was designed precisely with this worry in mind. To ensure that you do not create an environment for mold in your drawer, the unit includes a pin that holds your drawer open a few inches during operation. This will allow the humidified air to escape into your kitchen and not back into the drawer. At the end of the cycle, the pin retracts and if your drawer is outfitted with soft-close slides, the drawer will close on its own.
Will the exhaust air damage the underside of drawer front above?
No, while the exhaust air is slightly humidified, it is still relatively dry. You should not expect any condensation, damage, or degradation by the Dryer Drawer.
Does the Dryer Drawer use heat?
No, the Dryer Drawer uses only a small fan to create increased airflow and speed drying time compared to countertop drying.
How long does the Dryer Drawer take?
Drying dishes typically takes anywhere from 1-4 hours and is dependent on a variety of factors. In general, this cuts the dry-time in half compared to leaving them out on the counter. If your dishes are not dry at the end of the cycle, you can just add some more time!
Is there a drain or do I need plumbing? What do I do if there is water at the bottom at the end of a cycle?
There is no drain for the Dryer Drawer, and it doesn’t need to be plumbed. Most handwashing activities just end up with layer water on the surface of an item, so we do not experience an amount of water necessitating a drain. If there is still water at the bottom of your Dryer Drawer at the end of a cycle, you can either 1) run the empty Dryer Drawer to evaporate the water or 2) wipe out with a paper towel or sponge.
Do I need to clean the Dryer Drawer? How do I?
Like any appliance or item in the kitchen, food bits and kitchen stains will find their way into the Dryer Drawer. We suggest wiping down with a paper towel or sponge weekly. Mild cleaning agents like surface sprays or wipes can be used on the Dryer Drawer.
Do I need power behind my drawer?
No, the Dryer Drawer comes with a 8ft long power cord so you can utilize under-cabinet power sources in close proximity (i.e., an under sink outlet). See our Installation Guide for details on how to install using adjoining power source locations.
Will there be other sizes? Versions? Organizing accessories?
Since the Dryer Drawer is a new concept and wholly financed and run by the founder, we are taking a more intentional approach to growth. As adoption of the Dryer Drawer increases, we hope to launch a line of accessories to help users more efficiently and effectively load and unload the Dryer Drawer or even allow for in-place storage. Similarly, if there is demand for different sizes, configurations, finishes, or other improvements to the concept, we will certainly pursue them. Be sure to tell us the features and improvements you’d like to see!
